    Prime Objective

    Contributing to establishment, development and application of the basic principles of project management comprehension in public and private sector organisations in Turkey.


    Operational Goals

  • Working with concerned associations, foundations, public and private sector organisations at national and international level and subscribing to the Association if necessary;


  • Opening new branch offices in differrent cities and making adequate studies; trying to arrange postgraduate education programs in the field of Project Management Body Of Knowledge in universities


  • Coordinating the PMP certification process in Turkey and seeking the opportunities for National PMP certification;


  • Giving training and consultancy services to demanding organisations using the assistance of experienced Association Members;


  • Making studies to accommodate to European Union Project Management Standards and contributing to preparation of concerned legislation;


  • Proposing and defining the Turkish translations of the concepts that are accepted in Project Management and composing Turkish Project Management Terminology;


  • Arranging forum, symposium, meeting and seminars; composing Special Interest Groups to propose solutions at specific topics; generating management models to use;


  • Monitoring and following the developments in different fields of project management body of knowledge, reconnoitring and informing his members by issuing the publications;


  • Establishing an Economical Enterprise to conduct publishing documentation for trainings and project management;


  • Opening a recreational room to provide a location to its members for sharing knowledge, social and cultural solidarity.


    Business Principles

    Employees in the project management field affects directly or indirectly the quality of life of the community's all members, either in public or private sector.

    Thus, Project Managers are responsible for obtainingthe confidence and trust of their colleagues', team members', employees', stakeholders' and community's and conducting their business in respect of international principles to provide the continuity of this confidence and trust. Association Members are assumed to accept the moral rules of the Project Management Association by subscribing.


    Training and Consultancy Services

    Since the establishment, Project Management trainings were given to several institutions in public and private sector and few consultancy services were given to some organisations. The Association still continues these activities.

    Training services are given by the members of PYD who have PMP(Project Management Professional) certificate or have the permission for giving trainings from PYD Training Committee. Members of Project Management Association whose have time availability provide consultancy services.


    Monthly Regular Meetings

    Conversations and meetings to which our members can attend are also open to the guests attandance are performed regularly. These activities provide a platform to participants that they can share their knowledge to each other, getting information from specialists about demanded topics.


    Other Services

    In 2004, a presentation was done and an active role was taken in the Symposium of "Project Management in Defence Projects" which was arranged under the structure of Turkish Land Forces Command and Land Forces Training and Doctrine Command.

    In 2005, 1. Project Management Symposium's preparatory works are continued that is planned to do under the auspices of ASO ( Ankara Chamber of Industry) and under the support of TOBB ETÜ in 19th of November, 2005.


    Publications

    In 1998, 'Project Management Body of Knowledge' adapted to country's needs was prepared and published by association members and distributed to Universities, Public Institutions and Enterprises as free of charge. The preparation studies of the second edition of the book, which was reviewed and updated, still continue.
